House AE is designed as a self-sufficient, sustainable, modular retreat house on the edge of Sapanca Lake for a couple who want to spend time in the nature on weekends but also stay close to the city. Since its location is far from the city infrastructure, its energy need was met by photovoltaic solar panels and lithium-ion solar batteries. Likewise, the water need was met by filtering and storing the roof rainwater and reusing it in the house, in addition to the artesian well to be opened in the field.

The building is designed as a modular system of wooden structure where the couple can host their relatives in their homes by adding an additional bedroom in the future.

The house plan, which is initially thought to be 65 m² -3 modules- as a small kitchen, bathroom, living area on the ground floor and a bedroom with its private bathroom on the upper floor, can grow to 75 m² -4 modules- by adding a second bedroom next to the living area on the ground floor with a view of the lake.

Likewise, if the house, which is net 75 m², is small for the couple in the future, living room and both bedrooms can be enlarged by adding a new axis to the entrance of the house which would provide the couple a net 105 m² -5 modules- retreat house.
